Destoner OW is an effective, water-efficient and product-friendly device engineered for separation of stones and soil clods from potatoes and root vegetables.
The device is used at the beginning of the line - in front of the cleaning and selection sections. The destoner is particularly useful in the case of heavy, highly stony soil, especially in technological lines where sharp stone edges may damage the machines.
The crops, together with stones and other field contaminants enter a water-filled, two-chamber tank. The water in the tank is moved by a turbine located at its base. The stream of water carries the crops to the upper chamber, from which they are led out on a bar conveyor to subsequent machines in a technological line. The stones, on the other hand, sinking deeper, settle in the lower chamber, from where they are carried away on a stone elevator for disposal.
The smallest solid contaminants, i.e. those that will not be picked up by the waste bar conveyor, settle in the bottom part of the tank.
The design of the machine allows easy access to this part of the tank and convenient removal of the deposited impurities.
The water circulation in the device is fully automatic. The fresh water supply, and thus the constant water level in the tank, is controlled by a solenoid valve and regulated by a pressure sensor. Whereas the frequency of operation of the pneumatically actuated drain dampers discharging polluted water is adjustable from the control cabinet.
